And in case you've been following this movie and haven't heard already (like I did from Phillip Arthur), there is a slow-motion close-up of the brief glimpse of the monster that we see in the new trailer (the full version of which you can watch in Quicktime here... and is that a lot of linkage to put together or what? :-).

Just my opinion, but I've thought ever since the first teaser trailer came out that it was the return of Godzilla. There was one remaining surviving egg in the first movie. Makes sense to me.

Actually, it was Godzilla - the original Japanese version - that inspired J.J. Abrams to do Cloverfield. And some are wondering if he might be delving into Lovecraft's "Cthulhu mythos" with this movie.
