If you've read the book, you know what the above image is about. Looks like instead of toning down the brutality - and let's face it, two decades later Watchmen is still one of the most brutal graphic novels ever - Zack Snyder is gonna ratchet it up even worse.
(I'm warning y'all who aren't "in the know" here and now: if Snyder is at all consistent with the book, during the part of the movie when Rorschach starts talking about what made him stop "pretending", I hope and pray that you have a strong stomach.)
Click here for more new pics from Watchmen, including the one on the left depicting a certain "prophet of doom" who spends his days walking the streets of New York. And if you mash down here you can read an article from a 1973 issue of the Wall Street Post reporting on the deaths of journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.

Chris, how many times have you read Watchmen? I first read it ten years ago.
I first read Watchmen in January of 1990. And it completely blew my mind. I started on it on a Sunday night after buying it from a bookstore in Greensboro, and for the next several days after swim practice at high school and homework I would pick it up and read more of it (and usually I went back one or two chapters).
Let's put it this way: Watchmen is one of the books that I credit as being one of the most influential in my life. I discovered it at that point where I was greedily devouring EVERY good book that I could get my hands on.
And since then I have read Watchmen - I'm not making this up, this is my best estimation - at least 200 times.
Along with every article, interview or whatever other piece of info that I've been able to find on the subject.
And right now, I'm trying to determine if there's going to be a midnight showing of the movie and if so, I'm debating whether to go in a Rorschach costume :-)
Is it scary that I am also considering going as Rorschach?
You've read Watchmen more than 200 times?????????????
We love you and your blog Chris but man, get some help. That can't be healthy.
Although I'm thinking of going as Hooded Justice so I shouldn't talk either.
Hey, so long as nobody shaves their head, totally paints their body in glowing blue and struts out to the cinema butt naked, I think it should be okay :-)
Well, there goes MY idea...
